Rekindle the Magic

Rekindle the Magic

Discover Your Local Kindergarten Week (May 25-29)

From 25 – 29 May, 107 Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) kindergartens will be taking part in Discover Your Local Kindergarten Week! Come along and experience your local kindy during its open day and rekindle the joy and magic it creates.

You’ll be able to meet AKA’s qualified teachers and see why learning through play still makes kindergarten a time to remember! AKA employs qualified early childhood teachers, who are professional, dedicated and passionate about children’s learning.

Children will be encouraged to express themselves and actively discover, experience and understand the world around them while making friends and having a whole lot of fun. With introductions to mathematical concepts, science, literacy and ICT, your child will be well on its way to starting school.

With hours that mirror school hours available across the AKA network, and Early Childhood Education funding for up to 20 hours of subsidised kindergarten care each week, there really is an option for everyone.

Tanya Harvey CEO of AKA, says: “Kindergarten is a great option for working parents and those wanting their children ready and prepared for school. Not only will they make some of their first friends, but they’ll be well on their way to finding their place in the world. Having opened its first kindergarten in 1908, AKA has been looking after Auckland’s children for over 100 years. With 107 AKA kindergartens located across Auckland, this week is about encouraging people to visit their local kindy and discover why kindergarten is so unique in giving children a love of life and learning.”
