D-Day Is Approaching!
Anyone wanting to find out about degrees and diplomas offered by NorthTec is invited to come to the first “D-Day” event at the polytechnic’s Raumanga campus.
D-Day: Degrees, Diplomas, Decisions will take place on Thursday, 7 May, from 12.30pm to 5.30pm. School groups are being invited to attend and the event, being held at the Interactive Learning Centre lecture theatre (near Gate 1), is open to the public.
There will be talks by tutors and staff involved in all the programme areas offering degrees or diplomas.
NorthTec offers seven degree programmes: Applied Arts; Applied Science; Applied Management; Nursing; Applied Social Service; Sport and Recreation; Māori Arts (Toi Te Waingarahu). The Applied Science degree, majoring in Biodiversity Management, is offered in conjunction with Unitec, while the Sport and Recreation degree is via a partnership with AUT.
NorthTec offers the following subjects at diploma level: Agribusiness Management; Applied Arts; Applied Science; Applied Writing; Architectural Technology; Construction Management; Quantity Surveying; Practice Management; Management; Business; Information Systems; Civil Engineering; Conservation and Environmental Management; Horticulture; Sustainable Rural Development; Cookery; Sport and Recreation; Te Reo (Māori Language). There is also a new diploma in Information Systems.
NorthTec staff will outline their degree and diploma programmes, and explain how students can pathway to them. The aim of the day is to give potential students a clear picture of the options available to them.
The day will run as follows:
PART 1
12.30pm Introducing NorthTec
12.45pm Info session 1: Choose from nursing, business, arts or trades
1.15 pm Info session 2: Choose from helping you succeed, scholarships, laying a foundation for further study
1.45 pm Info session 3: Choose from social services, Māori arts, sport & recreation
2.15 pm Campus tours
PART 2
4.3O pm Introducing NorthTec
4.45 pm Info session 1: Choose from helping you succeed, scholarships, laying a foundation for further study
5.00 pm Nursing info evening
5.30 pm Info session 2: Choose from business, arts, trades, science, sport & recreation, environmental, horticulture
