The 2015 Unitec Sewing Basics Workshops are suitable for high school leavers currently studying Fabric Technology or related courses and looking to enrol in Unitec’s Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts degree majoring in Production, Design and Management (Costume Design). The workshop is also suitable for sewing teachers looking to upskill. The workshop will suit anyone who has a passion for costumes, fashion, vintage clothing or making your own clothing. The workshops focuses on basic sewing techniques and industrial sewing machine operation and maintenance.
The workshop is facilitated by a Sewing tutor who has over 30 years’ experience working in the fashion industry as a sample machinist. This is an opportunity to meet other Unitec tutors who teach theatre and film costuming at Unitec's Performing and Screen Arts, the largest school of its kind in New Zealand.
Limited places, maximum seven students per workshop so BOOK NOW.
Criteria: Applicants must have a fundamental understanding of sewing.
