The Warehouse Wellington Zoofari welcomes Te Kura-ā-Iwi o Whakatupuranga Rua Mano

150 students from Te Kura-ā-Iwi o Whakatupuranga Rua Mano in Otaki will visit Wellington Zoo this week as part of The Warehouse Wellington Zoofari programme, on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 February.

The Warehouse Wellington Zoofari is a three-year partnership between Wellington Zoo and The Warehouse with the aim to help local low-decile schools experience conservation-based learning programmes at the Zoo.

The Warehouse’s Wellington region stores raised nearly $26,500 through in-store fundraising in September 2014 to cover the costs of school visits and transport to Wellington Zoo. Approximately 1,800 students from 13 schools from the Wellington and Tasman regions will take part in The Warehouse Wellington Zoofari this year.

NZ Bus supports the programme by providing discounted transport for participating schools to and from Wellington Zoo.

Full list of schools participating in the 2015 Warehouse Wellington Zoofari programme: Epuni Primary, Rata Street School, Naenae Intermediate and Taita Central School (Lower Hutt); Maoribank School (Upper Hutt); Titahi Bay North School, Ngati Toa School, Glenview School, Natone Park School, and Windley School (Porirua); Otaki Primary and Te Kura-a-iwi o Whakatupuranga Rua Mano (Otaki); and Parklands School (Motueka).
