Naenae Playcentre awards life membership
Naenae Playcentre celebrates the years of contribution from their 'Queen of Messy Play' Sandra Bailey. Over morning tea on 15 December, Naenae Playcentre will award Ms Bailey with a life membership in recognition of her 21 years of dedication to the parent cooperative.
The award is an honour bestowed on members who have dedicated years of volunteer work to their local Playcentre. Sandra has given many children the opportunity to experience Playcentre. She has attended Playcentre with her three children, children she has fostered, and more recently, children she is the caregiver for.
“There’s no one in the area she doesn’t know,” said centre Co-President Kathy Illsley, “and she knows all about our Playcentre history too,” illustrating Sandra’s deep connection to her community.
Centre Support Person Jo Llewellyn agrees. “Sandra’s knowledge of the centre is amazing, she has held numerous roles over the years, often trouble shooting problems as she has such an amazing way with people - both big and small.”
The celebratory morning tea will take place at 10;00am on 15 December. To attend, please contact Naenae Playcentre.
