Children can build their idea of ‘decent homes’ for Habitat
Habitat for Humanity Invercargill is holding its second annual Build Challenge, on Tuesday 7 October.
Manager Lorraine Stevens said last year’s inaugural event was a huge success. “To accommodate even more kids this year, we’ve moved to the Invercargill Workingmen’s Club to give everyone a bit more space to build a great LEGO house.”
Participation in the Build Challenge is free. The Invercargill event is taking place on Tuesday 7 October at the Invercargill Workingmen’s Club with sessions starting from 10am. Other Build Challenge events will happen throughout New Zealand during the school holidays from 29 September to 11 October.
Children register for the event online, come along and build a home with LEGO® which is supplied. The purpose of the event is to educate children from a young age about what it means to have a decent home to live in.
Register online today to secure your spot in taking part in the Build Challenge and be in to win great prizes from LEGO®. www.buildchallenge.org. If you can’t make it along to the event, you can build at home with your own LEGO, take a photo and upload it to the website.
Habitat for Humanity has created a series of videos for children to view before they build their LEGO® Brick House during this year’s event. These can be found at www.buildchallenge.org.
