Return of the MBA programme offers opportunities for local businesses

Now in its second year, organisers are looking for Kapiti and Horowhenua companies to benefit from a free Massey
Executive MBA paper to be held on the Kapiti Coast during November.
The course, will run from November 7-9, and is part of a regional growth initiative spearheaded by Electra and supported
by the Kapiti and Horowhenua District Councils.
Electra Chair Trish McKelvey said, “in 2013 five companies from Kapiti –Horowhenua were selected to participate in the
inaugural delivery of the programme. For 2014, there are a few changes, and we are really looking forward to providing
the opportunity to four or five new companies to have some really experienced business people have a look at their
business for them”
Put concisely 30 Massey MBA Executives meet with 4-6 local businesses in an intense three-day program (Friday to Sunday)
which provides a great business development opportunity for local businesses and academic credits for the executives.
The Massey MBA has been running for the past 42 years. Executives taking part in the course are already experienced
professionals, managers or senior executives.
They will visit participating businesses on the Friday to analyse problems and brainstorm solutions. The class will then
divide into teams with 4-5 executives working with each company to develop a “business pitch” by Sunday afternoon.
Executives will write a comprehensive report for the business they’ve been working with including: a restructuring plan,
a feasibility analysis and implementation plan.
