Scratchie tickets are a winner for Life Education Trust
Almost quarter of a million dollars was raised for Life Education Trust during a month-long nationwide in-store campaign
at The Warehouse, meaning more children can attend learning modules and current teaching methods will move to a digital
platform.
A whopping $223,212 was raised from sales of Scratch’n’Win tickets, which were sold at check outs at 92 The Warehouse
stores for the Life Education Trust’s in store national fundraising Paul Walsh, Executive GM Community and Environment
presented the cheque to John O’Connell, Life Education Trust Chief Executive who was absolutely delighted with the
amount.
“All charities rely heavily on public support and through The Warehouse we are able to take our cause to the public.
Making their store network and staff available for charities to run a fundraising promotion is a really neat way of
supporting communities. We’re very grateful to have that opportunity to raise funds and be part of the Warehouse team,”
Mr O’Connell said.
Paul Walsh was extremely pleased with the support that was shown by The Warehouse team members and customers throughout
the fundraising campaign.
“Supporting young people and families is a key commitment for The Warehouse and with the skills and knowledge that Life
Education Trust provides to Kiwi kids across New Zealand, we know this money will go a long way in supporting this
goal,” Mr Walsh said.
The tickets were sold for $2 each and prizes included a Toyota Corolla and a $5,000 Rarotonga holiday package.
Life Education Trust is one of five national community partners of The Warehouse and the fundraising campaign ran from
29 January until 2 March 2014.
