Recruitment Process begins for Te Wananga o Aoteoroa Transformation
Te Wananga o Aotearoa, one of New Zealand's largest tertiary education providers, is set to enter the most significant
transition phase in its thirty year history. As part of its mission to achieve whanau transformation through education,
the institution has developed a new executive leadership structure and will be appointing individuals to these roles
over the coming weeks.
Te Wananga o Aotearoa is about to undertake an extensive appointment process to identify individuals whose skills and
values align with the institution's future strategic direction. Eight new executive directors (tumu) will be recruited,
covering curriculum, student services, educational delivery services, marketing, human resources, information technology
and finance. In addition to these roles, a new deputy chief executive officer will be appointed.
The change is being led by chief executive officer Jim Mather, who was appointed in October 2013. As former chief
executive officer of Maori Television, Mr Mather is well known for his strategic leadership skills and passion for Maori
development.
Advertising for these roles is due to commence on Saturday 29 March, with the appointments expected to be finalised in
late June.
