Top examination results for St Cuthbert’s students
Three-quarters of Year 11 students achieved excellence certificates for Level 1 NCEA at St Cuthbert’s College, in
another year of outstanding results.
At Level 1 96.7% of students achieved endorsed at either Excellence or Merit level, at Level 2 this number was 87.1%
with Level 3 at 86.2%.
And for our graduating students, 97.8% gained University Entrance.
The College also offers International Baccalaureate and in 2013 students had a 100% pass rate. Three students received
‘perfect scores’ of 45 – they join just 5 other New Zealanders to achieve this feat. Two students received scores of 44.
In total 14 students received a mark of 40 and above and will be awarded Top Scholars’ Awards at a ceremony at
Government House this month.
NCEA Results:
Year 11
• 97.8% of students gained a Level 1 Certificate
• 96.7% of students achieved certificates endorsed at either Excellence or Merit level
• 74.9% endorsed at Excellence
Year 12
• 97.4% of students gained a Level 2 Certificate
• 87.1% of students achieved certificates endorsed at either Excellence or Merit Level
• 56.9% endorsed at Excellence
Year 13
• 97.1% of students gained a Level 3 Certificate
• 86.2% of students achieved certificates endorsed at either Excellence or Merit Level
• 40.6% endorsed at Excellence
• 97.8% of students received University Entrance
IB Results:
• The College had a 100% pass rate in 2013
• 3 students received perfect scores of 45: Jenny Cao, Sobitha Manoharan and Cici Guo. 2 students received scores
of 44: Sabrina Yeh and Catherine Tian.
• In total 14 students received a mark of 40 and above and will be awarded Top Scholars Awards at a ceremony at
Government House.
• These results are above international averages: There is a 80% pass rate internationally, with only 7% of
Asia-Pacific students receiving perfect scores.
