Kerikeri campus continues to offer Visual Arts Degree

This year the second and third years of NorthTec‘s valued Bachelor of Applied Arts (Visual) will be offered at the Kerikeri campus. Printmaking, painting clay, glass and art theory will continue to be taught at the campus. The tutors include Richard Parker, Mark Graver, Scott McFarlane, Jaymz Edmonds and Ali Ritchie.
NorthTec is currently accepting enrolments for its Arts programmes at the Kerikeri campus with classes due to start on February 17.
Last year a wider review of NorthTec’s arts programme saw some reduction in course offerings. However, community involvement during that review made it clear that NorthTec’s arts programmes are highly valued by students, graduates and the wider community in Kerikeri.
“It was important to acknowledge the strength of the submissions in response to the communities’ wish to maintain a presence of arts in the regions highlighting the on-going link between social and economic development and the provision of arts in these areas,” NorthTec Chief Executive, Paul Binney said following the review.
NorthTec aims to continue growing as an Arts Centre of Excellence at Kerikeri.
Programmes in Applied Arts (Visual Arts) will continue on a rotational basis in order to support the sustainability of the arts programmes.
