Fun, Food And Whānau – Orientation
to Start Northtec’s New Year with a Bang!
The 2014 student orientation is fast approaching. NorthTec expects more than 1500 new students to take their place with us in February 2014.
All of NorthTec’s Northland learning sites campuses are gearing up for orientation that marks the traditional start of the new academic year on 17 and 18 February.
Orientation is all about introducing students to their new learning environment and welcoming them into the NorthTec whānau. It provides them with an opportunity to meet with their tutors in a relaxed setting and to chat with student success staff about their needs, before they start classes for the first time.
“Orientation is all about the students - it ensures they feel welcome and shows them how much we have to offer here to help them succeed in their studies,” says Jane Arlidge, Student Success (Acting) Manager.
“It is a great way for everyone to meet, for students it’s a chance to forge new friendships and to be part of a healthy and fun environment at NorthTec.”
“It is a day where we can showcase NorthTec and our whānau to new students and to inspire them to be comfortable here, to learn here, and to excel here. This is where we come together, become one whānau and become that support system to each other – plus it’s a great morning of fun! What better way to start your education!” says Jane.
