2 December 2013
Enspiral are proud to announce the launch of Enspiral Dev Academy. New Zealand’s first intensive developer training programme will be delivered in partnership with Wellington City Council and supported by Grow Wellington.
Based on the successful DevBootcamp model from San Francisco, Enspiral’s Developer Academy is an intensive 9 week pressure cooker programme designed to radically upskill passionate and capable software developers preparing them to step straight into great jobs.
“We’ve never had anything like this in New Zealand before. For our candidates this will be a powerful step up, opening doors into some of New Zealand’s most exciting businesses,” says Rohan Wakefield, Co-Founder of Enspiral Dev Academy.
It couldn’t come at a better time. NZ’s tech industry is hungry for talent.
“This is a great initiative to increase the skills of New Zealanders in the IT sector as we build more globally competitive businesses. This partnership with Dev Academy is a great step forward and I look forward to working with Dev Academy students and seeing the results on graduation day,” says Rod Drury, CEO of Xero
“There is certainly a shortage of hirable technical talent in Wellington. When Dev Academy achieve what they aim to it will be a huge benefit to tech companies” Ari Sargent CEO of Powershop
High skilled IT professionals are the fuel for the high tech, innovation economy. The current shortage means stunted growth or looking offshore to fill current staff needs. For our businesses to compete globally, we need initiatives like Dev Academy to attract and upskill the right kind of tech talent.
“There’s a real shortage of candidates in Wellington with the right combination of passion, skills and personality to excel in one of the most rewarding and influential careers around. And that’s why Dev Academy is so exciting - bring it on!.” Andrew Tokeley, Product Manager, Xero.
“We are delighted to work with Enspiral to help our talented Wellington people work for our extraordinary Wellington tech companies. This model has proven successful overseas and we are proud to be the centre for this in New Zealand” says Councillor Jo Coughlan
