Celebration for U-Skills students
Proud friends and families, school teachers and UCOL staff will gather at the Regent on Broadway tonight to celebrate with 165 U-Skills students representing 26 schools from throughout the region.
In its second year, U-Skills Central School Academy is a Government trade’s academy led by UCOL.
Travelling from as far afield as Whanganui, Horowhenua, Ohakune and Wairarapa, the graduates will be presented with a certificate of completion and recognition of their commitment to their studies.
Trades academies allow students to be enrolled at both their secondary school and a tertiary training provider.
U-Skills training is provided one day a week at UCOL. The other days are spent at school studying towards NCEA. The study is free and transport is funded.
U-Skills training is available across programmes in Retail, Hospitality, Construction, Automotive, Health and Mechanical Engineering.
When: 6.00pm, Tuesday 19 November 2013.
Where: Regent on Broadway, Palmerston North.
