Winners for Ngā Tohu Reo Māori Announced
The winners of Nga Tohu Reo Māori 2013 have been announced at Gisborne.
The highest community award was presented to Te Hui Ahurei o Tūhoe.
The award for Māori language leadership was presented to Dr Te Wharehuia Milroy of Ngāi Tūhoe.
The awards presented celebrate local community support led by kura, schools, businesses etc. for te reo Māori.
“The awards are going from strength to strength,” says Chief Executive, Glenis Philip-Barbara.
“We acknowledge the leaders who have sustained the language for all people, and for the language itself.”
“To all entrants and winners, Te Taura Whiri I te Reo Māori is impressed by your commitment.”
