New appointments to Ministry Leadership Team
Secretary for Education Peter Hughes has announced appointments to three new roles in the Ministry's Leadership Team.
Mr Hughes says the appointments will add further strength to the Ministry's leadership so it is better positioned to support the sector.
"We’re organising our people and how we work so we’re in the best possible position to back everyone working in the sector. These roles are part of that shift. We all share the same goal of getting the best results for kids.”
"I'm really pleased that we've got people for these key roles with such a broad range of experience and skills in education. That's going to add extra depth to our leadership."
Dr Graham Stoop joins the Ministry as Deputy Secretary, Graduate Achievement, Vocations and Careers. He is the Chief Review Officer and Chief Executive at the Education Review Office and currently on secondment to the Ministry as the Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Group on the reform of the Teachers’ Council.
Lisa Rodgers will become Deputy Secretary, Evidence Data and Knowledge. She is currently the Ministry's Taskforce Leader for Literacy and Numeracy.
Dr Andrea Schöllmann will take up a position as Deputy Secretary, Education System Performance. She is already an acting member of the Leadership Team.
"Andrea, Graham and Lisa all have a great passion for kids and learning and share our commitment to raising educational achievement and outcomes.”
