Prof and Lord Robert Winston to speak at early childhood conference
Te Tari Puna Ora o Aotearoa/NZ Childcare Association (NZCA) is honoured to be able to announce that Professor and Lord Robert Winston will be a keynote speaker and workshop presenter at its 51st Annual Conference and AGM, 11-13 July 2014.
“To have a speaker of Professor Winston’s calibre is truly exciting for the Association,” said Jane Ewens, NZCA Acting Chief Executive. “I am thrilled that New Zealand’s ECE sector will have the opportunity to hear this remarkable science hero and child development expert in person.”
Professor Winston’s address will speak to the theme, Every child – strong in identity, learning and succeeding. Ia tamaiti – he pakari ā-tuakiri, ā-ako, e eke panuku ana.
Professor Robert Winston has become a household name through his award winning BBC documentaries, including Child of our time (now in its 10th series), Superhuman, Human Instinct and Walking with Cavemen. His accolades include 16 honorary doctorates (including from Auckland University), medals and awards from prestigious organisations such as the Royal Society of Medicine and the Royal College of Surgeons. He has authored 20 popular science books and contributed enormously to making science understandable and relevant to everyone.
