Unitec wins marketing leadership at the TVNZ Marketing Awards
By being bold, innovative and inclusive, Unitec has received one of the highest accolades in business marketing at the TVNZ Marketing Awards, the Judges Choice - Marketing Leadership, for its campaign "We make the people who make it".
The TVNZ Marketing Awards are the marketing industry's premier business marketing awards, and run as a partnership between the Marketing Association and NZ Marketing magazine. Now in their 22nd year the awards are an invaluable opportunity for marketers to be recognised as leaders in their field.
To win one of these prestigious awards, Unitec had to demonstrate marketing leadership, and improved marketing performance through effective employee/stakeholder engagement in a successful marketing initiative/project.
As New Zealand's largest institute of technology and one of the largest provider of trades training, Unitec has provided the country with highly skilled and work-ready engineers and tradespeople across a wide range of disciplines for many years. Unitec wanted to celebrate these trades, engineering and construction professionals who have made significant contributions to helping shape Auckland.
"With increased urban development in Auckland and the Christchurch rebuild, trades training will give graduates the skills they need to be involved in a diverse range of high profile and exciting projects," says Unitec Chief Executive, Rick Ede. "The marketing campaign highlighted that a trades qualification can offer a rewarding career, good financial prospects and a great lifestyle."
This award is the latest in a number of honours Unitec has received for the "We make the people who make It" campaign, having already won a silver Axis for activation and four awards at the CAANZ Media Awards including the highly sought after Best in Show award.
According to the judges, "Unitec demonstrated true marketing leadership with this surprising, non-traditional solution, in a category where this is unexpected. They delivered outstanding results. The clarity of problem statement and brilliantly integrated outcome was impressive."
Unitec's creative, progressive and distinctive approach to marketing communications sets it apart from others in the sector.
