2013 Smart Money Digital Story Competition winners announced
Winners of the inaugural Smart Money Digital Story Competition have been announced to coincide with New Zealand’s second
Money Week. Co-sponsored by BNZ and the Commission for Financial Literacy and Retirement Income, the Smart Money Digital
Story Competition tasked Years 7 and 8 students to make a short digital story no longer than three minutes about being
smart with money.
Seventy-eight entries from around the country were received made in a variety of styles with great range of messages
including budgeting, insurance and saving,
The judging panel of Nadine Chalmers-Ross (TVNZ Business Reporter), Filipo McGrath (BNZ Financial Literacy Specialist)
and Jane Ratcliffe (Digital Product Manager, Commission for Financial Literacy and Retirement Income) were delighted at
the quality of the entries, and the huge amount of thought and effort displayed by the students and supervising
teachers.
Entries were rated on the strength of their money message, the concept, delivery and performance, and technical quality.
And the Winners are:
First Prize - $2,500 of Technology Vouchers

Second Prize - $1000.00 of Technology Vouchers

Third Prize - $500.00 of Technology Vouchers
Pukekohe Intermediate, Pukekohe – A Despicable Tale
