Junior Rugby Gets Boost From Kiwi Company
Deserving Kiwi kids now have a chance to learn from the best following Dunedin based Crest Clean teaming up with
LeslieRugby to support National Junior Rugby Coaching clinics and the launch of the ‘Crest Clean Principal’s Scholarship
Prize’.
“With today’s children facing competing interests and participation in the national game declining, Crest Clean wanted
to ensure promising young rugby kids have the opportunity to build their love of the great game,” says Grant McLauchlan,
Managing Director of Crest Clean.
“Our partnering with LeslieRugby offering their junior coaching clinics to schools that Crest Clean works with, has seen
the development of the ‘Crest Clean Principal’s Scholarship Prize’, enabling school principles to select a deserving
pupil to attend one of the junior coaching clinics.”
Crest Clean strongly believes that inspiring kids through sporting endeavours is incredibly important and the
LeslieRugby seeks to improve juniors’ rugby skills in an informative, stimulating and safe environment.
Mr McLauchlan said “In today’s challenging financial times, sometimes parents are not in a position to send their
children to extra-curricular activities or programmes and kids end up missing out, that’s why we wanted to help.”
“By offering a deserving pupil that has shown a keen interest in rugby we may inspire that pupil to become a future All
Black. We are incredibly excited by this prospect.”
“If we can inspire one pupil through providing an opportunity like this then the initiative can be life changing for the
pupil involved,” said Mr McLauchlan.

• The LeslieRugby coaching team comprises of ex. International and current professional rugby stars, current and
emerging provincial representatives and premier club rugby players and selected outstanding local 1st XV talent.
• The identification and selection of a deserving pupil is entirely at the school’s discretion.
• CrestClean will fund the cost of the attendance at the LeslieRugby junior coaching clinic, provide the pupil with a
LeslieRugby Pack, containing information about the initiative and the pupil will also receive recognition and a trophy
from the school principal.
