Our Graduates Really Are The Best In The World

Our Graduates Really Are The Best In The World

AUCKLAND, 11 FEBRUARY 2013 - On the very day that they graduated from AdSchool, Anna Paine and Owen Bryson's topical ad for Mammoth Insulation was chosen as one of the best interactive ads in the world bestadsontv.com.

Each week Bestads picks ‘the very best advertising in the world’ in print, interactive, radio and TV; and this week's judges - Aaron McGurk and Chris Lapham, a senior creative team at Wieden Kennedy, London- picked Anna and Owen's ad as one of their 6 best interactive ads.

Owen and Anna’s ad was a topical banner ad that used Google keyword targeting to attach their banner to any story about Gareth Morgan wanting to rid New Zealand of cats.

The ad featuring 'Nikoli', that haughty aristocratic cat from the Mammoth TV Ads, was an instant success which got a stack of enquiries and commentary on the Mammoth website, as well as lots of comments and praise from newsreaders for lampooning Gareth Morgan.

“I just had to say what a BRILLIANT ad. Very well done to your marketing people!”Auckland

“Thank you for such a lovely ad on telly, but a big thank you for your ad on the NZHerald website.... lol..... Take that! Mr Morgan! You have made my day! Thanks!”Otorohanga

So a big congrats to our newly minted graduates Owen and Anna for not only having the nous to make use of a story that was polarizing the nation, but also for adding another accolade to their Absolut Hour and Marsden Inch Scholarship wins from last year.
