UCOL students have gained from pattillo scholarship
The pattillo scholarship has been of great value to Whanganui UCOL Fine Arts students over the past five years, and Whanganui UCOL Principal Julia Pedley said that while she is disappointed that it will not continue next year, she appreciates the commitment of pattillo to the arts and the opportunity that this scholarship has provided to students in the past.
“It was a generous scholarship that provided our students with an aspirational goal and a reward for exceptional creativity and ability. We understand the decision which I’m sure was a difficult one. We value the special relationship that Whanganui UCOL has formed with the Wellington-based company pattillo over the last five years, and look forward to continuing that in some form,” says Julia.
UCOL has committed to exploring new ways of providing arts education that are viable in the long term and supports the arts culture in Whanganui. “There is a considerable amount of work to do to discover how this can be done, and we are hopeful that organisations like pattillo will be a part of this future,” said Julia.
