More support offered to schools still to finalise end-of-year payroll reports
The Ministry of Education is reminding schools that have not yet sent in their end of year reports that further help is
available if they need it.
Schools had until yesterday to finalise their reports, and Ministry Group Manager, Rebecca Elvy, says it is great that
more than 80 per cent had their reports in by this morning.’
“This has been a tremendous effort by school payroll staff who had already been working really hard since the
implementation of Novopay.
“I want to reassure the schools that haven’t quite got there yet that there is still time, and we have got people to
help them get their reports in.
“Calls to schools are continuing today and if any payroll administrator is finding the process particularly difficult we
can send an expert advisor to help them.”
Ms Elvy says a great deal of resource has been committed to working on the end of year reports to ensure staff are paid
correctly ahead of the Christmas break.
“We know how critical this is, and will be using the time ahead of the December 12 pay date to work through any
outstanding issues on the reports so that the pay round goes as smoothly as possible.”
