Ministry praises schools for excellent end-of-year effort
More than two-thirds of schools have now provided their end-of-year payroll reports to the Ministry of Education.
Group Manager and Novopay Business Owner Rebecca Elvy says this is a fantastic result from schools who are working
extremely hard to make sure their staff are paid correctly over the Christmas break.
“The Ministry and Talent2 are continuing to call each school directly to give whatever assistance is needed to complete
end-of-year,” Ms Elvy says.
“We contacted more than 500 schools yesterday, and many more are being contacted today.”
Ms Elvy says it is very heartening to see 67% of schools have so far entered their data into the Novopay system.
“This follows an intensive effort by schools, supported by the Ministry and Talent2; including end-of-year roadshows,
specialist case managers, direct calling, and ongoing improvements to the Novopay system.
“While today is the official deadline for entering end-of-year data in Novopay, previous years have shown us that more
reports will come in over the next few days,” Ms Elvy says.
Ms Elvy repeats the commitment of Talent2 and the Ministry to make sure the end-of-year pay process goes smoothly for
schools and staff.
“This is an excellent step towards ensuring we achieve that, and I sincerely thank schools for their efforts,” she says.
