UCOL acting students move up to new roles
Six students from UCOL’s Performing Arts programme have recently set the scene to further their acting ambitions.
Three current Diploma in Performing Arts students Kate Gudsell, Rhian Firmin and Hannah Rohe have been accepted into the UNITEC Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts (Acting for Screen and Theatre) programme next year.
Hannah won the Individual Excellence Performance Artist and Individual Excellence Musical Artist awards and the major title of Emerging Artist of the Year at this year’s Student City Arts and Cultural Awards.
Diploma students Chris Hartley and Kieren Kleinschmidt will be heading to the South Seas Film and Drama School in Auckland next year to study for their Diplomas in On Screen Acting.
Kieren claimed an Individual Excellence Performance Artists award at the Student City Arts and Cultural Awards.
Diploma in Performing Arts graduate Jacob Dale has been accepted for New Zealand’s prestigious drama school, Toi Whakaari. Jacob graduated from UCOL last year and made a positive and lasting impression on the local theatre scene.
In 2011 he won the titles of Outstanding Single Achievement in the Arts and Artist of the Year at the Student City Arts and Cultural Awards.
