Parents can save thousands of dollars by using Cloth Nappies
Parents can save around $4000 per baby if they use cloth nappies plus they provide a zero waste alternative to disposable nappies as well.
Kate Meads, AKA the Nappy Lady, is going to be doing a round trip of workshops next week to share her expertise on the subject of cloth nappies and encourage local parents to minimize waste at home, and save money on their weekly nappy spend.
Starting in Palmerston North on the 7th of November at 6:30pm in the sound and vision zone at Palmerston North Central Library.
Then making her way down to: Porirua for Thursday 8th November 2:00pm at Patak, Followed by Upper Hutt that night at 6:30pm at Upper Hutt Central Library. Then finally Lower Hutt on Friday 9th November 10:00am at The Dowse
At The Nappy Lady workshops, parents and parents-to-be not only learn about the different styles of cloth nappies, they'll also receive tips and information on what they can do at home to reduce their waste output.
What's more, attendees at most of the workshops* will receive a free cloth nappy trial pack that has been funded by the local council to take home, giving them an opportunity to put into action the information they learn.
Spaces are limited at each workshop and bookings are essential.
Parents are welcome to bring along their babies if they are breast feeding to the workshop and their partner, or perhaps mum / grand mother to be.
For more information or to book, email 'The Nappy Lady' thenappylady@me.com.
Kate’s personal goal is to get every family in NZ with children in nappies to use just 1 cloth nappy per day, which would prevent 1 million nappies from going into our local NZ landfills every week.
The Nappy Lady’s goal is to reduce family expense on nappies, reduce landfill waste and reduce household garbage.
* Upper Hutt council is the only council not supplying a free pack of nappies. Parents will have to pay $15 - $20 if they would like a discounted pack supplied by The Nappy Lady's sponsors
