All Black and unbeatable netball team amongst Lincoln University honours
Sporting achievements, outstanding contributions to the cultural life of at Lincoln University, teaching and support excellence and Future Leaders scholars were acknowledged at the annual presentation of Lincoln University and the Lincoln University Students’ Association Blues, Golds and Greens Awards on Wednesday 3 October 2012.
For the second year in a row, All Black lock Samuel Whitelock was named Lincoln University’s Sports Person of the Year for 2012.
Currently in South Africa with the All Blacks he was therefore unable to receive his award in person. Sam has had an impressive rugby career to date and manages to juggle his rugby career with study at Lincoln University. Sam is on track to complete his Bachelor of Science degree at the end of Semester 1 in 2013, with a Major in Plant Science and a minor in Conservation and Ecology.
Lincoln University’s Sports Team

the Netball Premier A team, winners of the
Christchurch Netball Centre’s Premier Championship title
for the second year running. The Premier Netball team have
won the championship three times in the past four years.
