On Friday 21 September, at 7pm, a graduation ceremony for Computer Power Plus students will take place at Rendezvous Grand Hotel in Auckland City. The ceremony will see 125 students graduating with qualifications in Information Technology in the following disciplines; Diploma in Network Engineering, Diploma in Advanced Software Development, Diploma in Systems Technology, Diploma in Information Technology Support, Diploma in Software Development, Diploma in E-Business Support, Certificate in Information Technology (Client Support) and Certificate in Business Computing.
The ceremony will be very much about celebrating the success of our students said Rowan Halkyard, Area Manager, Computer Power Plus, Auckland campus. “We are committed to students achieving real-world information technology qualifications and this graduation ceremony will be a testament to this”.
Graduand Elizabeth (Liz) Britton, will be lining up to receive her qualification at Friday’s ceremony. Liz will be graduating with a Diploma in Software Development. She chose self-directed study at Computer Power after deciding on a significant career change. Liz liked the flexible environment that Computer Power Plus offered and the cross section of vendor certificates available. She was a popular and committed student who was a high achiever. This commitment has paid off and Liz is now employed with World Vision as a Database Mailing Co-ordinator.
Guest speakers at this year’s graduation ceremony will include Ken Wells, Marketing Director for DesignerTech. DesignerTech has worked in partnership with Computer Power Plus for a number of years. They provide internship opportunities for graduates and are members of the Computer Power Plus Advisory Group. Also speaking will be Don Campbell, Chief Executive of Whitireia New Zealand and Peter Cowper, Chief Operating Officer, Wellington Institute of Technology.
Computer Power Plus offers unique, flexible, self-paced learning. Students take control of their learning, learning at their own pace with staff available to assist. Students commit to attend regular sessions and each time they attend, they pick up exactly where they left off. Computer Power Plus is one of the biggest providers of information technology training in New Zealand. It offers cutting edge programmes and a work placement service to students to help with employment opportunities. In 2011, 90% of eligible graduates found employment in the industry.
Graduation ceremonies are a celebration of success. Over 190 graduands and invited guests are expected to take part in this graduation ceremony on Friday.
