Youthline provides Certificate in Youth Work
Press Release
Youth development organisation, Youthline, in conjunction with the ITO Careerforce, will soon be offering the National Certificate in Youth work Level 4, aligned with their volunteer training to work with youth.
The NZQA qualification takes about a year and a half to complete on a part-time basis and is excellent for those who may already be in other study or work but want to gain a youth work qualification.
Volunteer and Training Services Manager, Cathy Aiavao says this is a fantastic opportunity for Youthline and those involved with it.
“We strive to help people develop both personally and professionally and this certificate is going to be invaluable for those interested in a career in youth work.”
The certificate will cover the role of a youth worker, the youth development strategy, working in groups, leading projects, building rapport with youth, ethics, supervision, legal issues and some specialty areas of youth work.
“We’re really thrilled that this is now so close to fruition and we’re looking forward to getting underway!”
