Double celebrations for
Whitireia this week
This week will see around 200 students graduating from Whitireia New Zealand.
Tomorrow, 11 July at 4pm, a graduation ceremony will take place at the Whitireia Performance Centre in Wellington City, the first to be held at this venue. It will see students from the Faculty of Arts graduating from their programmes of study.
While on Thursday, 12 July a graduation ceremony will take place at the Elim Church in Porirua. This ceremony also at 4pm will see certificate level students from the Faculty of Business, Faculty of Service Industries, Faculty of Trades and Faculty of Health graduating from their programmes of study and having an opportunity to celebrate their success.
These ceremonies are very much community events that see a number of families attend in support of students and friends.
"Whitireia are proud of every student graduating. We seek to provide students with a solid foundation in which to build careers in the profession and industries they have chosen and to foster an interest in life-long learning", said Don Campbell, Whitireia Chief Executive.
These graduation ceremonies are a highlight of our academic calendar said Campbell. “They are a celebration of the success of our students and it’s important that we recognise this, celebrate and honour the achievements of each and every one of them”.
In excess of 700 students, invited guests and staff will take part in these graduation celebrations. There is much excitement building amongst the graduating students and staff.
