Scholarships help community organisations
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic is pleased to announce that it will be once again offering Community Organisation Study Awards.
Open to adult learners (18+ years old) who are working in a not-for-profit organisation (either full or part-time), the $500 study grants will assist with study at the Polytechnic.
Maggie Hope, Marketing Manager at the Polytechnic, commented that the Bay of Plenty was home to many not-for-profit organisations doing an amazing job. “Many of our Bay families are helped by these organisations and, over the last 18 months, a number of these community organisations have experienced increased demand for services at a time when funding is also increasingly difficult to secure.
“It is our hope that community organisations will benefit from these study grants allowing their staff to undertake professional development which will benefit both the organisation and the wider community.”
2012 recipients include both Literacy & Language Bay of Plenty and Rau O Te Huia Trust. Could 2013 be you and your organisation? Visit www.boppoly.ac.nz/go/scholarships for more information.
Ends.
