New Early Childhood Education Certificate in Christchurch
Aoraki Polytechnic is seeking expressions of interest to study the Certificate in Early Childhood Studies (Level 3) at their Christchurch campus with classes expected to start in July this year.
Aoraki Polytechnic has identified a need for Certificate level Early Childhood study in Christchurch. The programme, currently offered at the Timaru and Dunedin campus, will be an expansion to Aoraki Polytechnic’s specialist Health and Wellbeing portfolio.
“I am delighted to be able to offer the Certificate in Early Childhood Studies (Level 3) at the Christchurch Campus. It has been a very successful programme in Timaru for a number of years, offering students the opportunity to staircase to higher levels of study within Early Childhood Education.” says Sandy McKirdy, Aoraki Polytechnic’s Head of School for Health and Education.
Our Christchurch campus offering of the Early Childhood certificate ‘fills a gap’ in education options for people in Canterbury. The 34 week programme offers education in child development, facilitating play, planning education programmes and many facets of personal development.”
The programme suits those wanting a career in early childhood education, and provides the first step in the pathway onto Degree level study in Early Childhood or those already working in early childhood centres who need to gain a qualification. Classes are scheduled to commence on July 16 subject to enrolments.
