Early Childhood Education Certificate to Be Offered at Aoraki Polytechnic’s Dunedin Campus
Aoraki Polytechnic is seeking expressions of interest to deliver the Certificate in Early Childhood Studies (Level 3) at their Dunedin campus from July this year.
Aoraki Polytechnic has identified a need for Certificate level Early Childhood study in Dunedin. The programme, currently offered at the Timaru campus, will be an expansion to Aoraki Polytechnic’s specialist Health and Wellbeing portfolio.
Aoraki Polytechnic’s Head of School for Health and Education, Sandy McKirdy is delighted to be able to offer the Certificate in Early Childhood Studies (Level 3) at the Dunedin Campus. “It has been a very successful programme in Timaru for a number of years, offering students the opportunity to staircase to higher levels of study within Early Childhood Education.”
The Dunedin campus offering of the Early Childhood certificate ‘fills a gap’ in education options for people in Otago. The 34 week programme offers education in child development, facilitating play, planning education programmes and many facets of personal development.
The programme suits those wanting a career in early childhood education, and provides the first step in the pathway onto Degree level study in Early Childhood or those already working in early childhood centres who need to gain a qualification. Classes are scheduled to commence in July subject to enrolments. For more information and to secure a place on the programme visit www.aoraki.ac.nz or call 0800 426 725.
