Charter schools are like a mixed up chameleon

Media Release

Charter schools are like a mixed up chameleon

Prime Minister John Key has a lot to learn from the character in The Mixed-Up Chameleon says PPTA junior vice-president Doug Clark.

“The latest book we’re gifting to John Key, shows how easy it is to blindly mimic what others do. The chameleon copies the characteristics of other animals until it is so mixed up it cannot feed itself,” he said.

“We’re worried the prime minister is behaving like a chameleon with an identity crisis. Unfortunately he is not the only one who will be mixed up at the end of it.”

“To-date, we’ve sent heavy reading to the prime minister so we hope the latest read will be easy to follow, straight to the point and help him see charter schools are not something to blindly mimic,” said Clark.

In the spirit of the season PPTA is helping John Key build up a collection of summer reading by gifting him a book on each of the 12 working days until Christmas.
