SBS Bank customers vote for Conductive Education Southern to receive $10,000
SBS Bank account holders have voted for Conductive Education Southern to receive the $10,000 proceeds from the 35th
annual SBS Bank Golf Invitational.
Conductive Education Southern Manager Kevin Wall said the donation would help the organisation to continue to provide
well being and educational programmes for people with motor disorders.
“When I got the message that SBS Bank had some good news for us, I had a feeling we might have won.
“We’re really stoked. It’s great for the organisation and means that we can also create awareness of what we do”, Mr
Wall said.
Conductive Education Southern, who are based in the Gladstone Scout Hall, currently teach 27 children and are the only
conductive education centre south of Christchurch.
“One day we’d love to have our own building and the $10,000 will greatly help with this.
“We want to do all that we can for the children and it really is a case of the more you put in the more you get back
from them”, he said.
As an SBS Star account holder, Conductive Education Southern were nominated as one of 10 deserving Southland charities
to receive the 10,000 SBS Bank Golf Invitational proceeds.
SBS Bank account holders were encouraged to vote for their preferred charity, via phone, email or by popping into a
local branch.
SBS Bank Invercargill Manager Neil Bramley said he was pleased with the outcome of the public vote.
“SBS Bank account holders have come out in force to vote for their favourite, local, non-profit organisation, and we
couldn’t have been more pleased that Conductive Education Southern has been chosen as the winner.
“It’s great to be able to give back to an organisation who has banked with us for a number of years and are so deserving
of the $10,000.
“The donation will enable Conductive Education Southern to keep doing the great work they do in the community and we’re
more than happy to help them out."
The 35th SBS Bank Golf Invitational will be held at the Invercargill Golf Course on 3 and 4 March 2012.
