Schools Challenged to Create a 'Haka Man'
All Blacks to Visit Winning School
Schools throughout the country have been challenged to create their own version of a “Haka Man”, a powerful symbol of grassroots All Blacks support. Up for grabs are $15,000 RRP of sporting equipment and a school-visit from some of the 2011 All Blacks.
The Haka Man is a figure that has popped up all over the country in various forms during key All Black campaigns since 2005, from a 60-metre figure that appeared on the Canterbury Plains to a giant artwork on Auckland’s Sky Tower. This year he’s back.
School students are challenged to use their imaginations to create their own version of the Haka Man by October 7, to show their support for the All Blacks. It could be a collage, a painting, a video, the more creative the better. The All Blacks will personally judge all the entries; the winning school will not only get a visit from some members of the team but $5,000 RRP worth of sports equipment to help foster future All Blacks.
Prizes up for grabs:
• 1st Prize = All Blacks will visit your school + $5k RRP sports gear pack for your school
• 2nd Prize = $4k RRP Sports Gear Pack for your school
• 3rd Prize = $3k RRP Sports Gear Pack for your school
• 4th Prize = $2k RRP Sports Gear Pack for your school
• 5th Prize = $1k RRP Sports Gear Pack for your school
Entries close October 7, finalists are announced October 14 and winners announced October 30.
