Arts graduate back to exhibit in Whanganui

An exhibition by Maori artist and Whanganui UCOL graduate Erna Stachl opens at the Edith Gallery in Whanganui next week.

The exhibition is titled: Sorry: an exhibition of self-sacrifice and illusory martyrdom.

Erna Stachl is a graduate of Whanganui UCOL’s Bachelor of Fine Arts programme. She worked for four years at the Quay School of the Arts teaching across the Certificate of Art and Design and Bachelor of Fine Arts Programmes.

During this time she completed her Masters of Arts, exhibited in joint exhibitions and curated a group exhibition in Whanganui called Post. She has work in the Sargeant Gallery collection.

Erna is now a lecturer with Massey University’s School of Visual and Material Culture in Wellington.

Her exhibition opens at the Edith Gallery at 5.30pm on Tuesday 22 February. It will run until 4 March.
