ACG School tops Cambridge Examinations Awards
List
26 January 2011, Auckland
ACG Senior College, a member of the Academic Colleges Group, has topped the Cambridge International Examination Awards List.
The College has received news that six Top in the World and 13 Top in NZ awards will be presented to ACG Senior College students next month.
Kathy Parker, Principal of Senior College, is delighted with the news We are unbelievably proud, especially given the size of the school (387 students). It's sounds cliché but it really just comes down to great, dedicated teachers and students who love what they do. Everyone sits, there is no streaming, and our students really seem to thrive on meeting the academic challenges that Cambridge presents."
After topping the world last year, Vito Nicholas has repeated the performance this year in A Level painting. ACG Senior College now boasts the remarkable record of students placed Top in the World in Painting for five consecutive years.
Clarence van der Wel, Deputy Chief Executive of ACG is extremely pleased with the efforts of the students and teachers in the four ACG schools from West Auckland to South Auckland. ACG Schools have produced the best ever set of results. The overall pass rate of 90% (with ACG Strathallan and ACG Senior College students achieving 100% pass rates at A Level), is quite outstanding especially since CIE is the only qualification on offer at ACG.
In total, students in ACG Schools will receive 32 Top in the World or Top in NZ awards.
The outstanding results are a direct result of the skill, commitment and determination to succeed shown by both the students and teachers says Clarence.
