Design Careers Launched at Graduation

Nearly 50 students from the Whanganui School of Design will graduate tomorrow (Friday).
Those able to attend will take part in a ceremony at the Royal Wanganui Opera House starting at 10.30am.
There will be a procession after the ceremony bringing the students back to Matapihi ki te Ao campus for a reception.
The graduating students include:
30 with Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design
Six with Postgraduate Diploma of Computer Graphic Design
Eight with Bachelor of Computer Graphic Design with Honours
Three with Whanganui UCOL; s new Graduate Diploma in Animation
There are 21 international students eligible to graduate.
Not all will attend the ceremony: many have returned to their home countries or have already taken up positions in the design industry.
The Keynote speaker at today’s ceremony is Sally Patrick, Community and Cultural Manager for the Wanganui City Council. The Chair of UCOL’s Council and Chief Executive Paul McElroy will also address the graduands.
