EIT Partners With Local Online Smart Thinkers
Hawke’s Bay tertiary education provider EIT has selected Havelock North-based firm Mogul to redevelop the EIT website. As well as providing an extensive resource for information on EIT’s courses and programmes, the new site will foster a sense of community around EIT using social media tools including Facebook, Twitter and blogging by staff and students.
EIT first enlisted Mogul’s help to develop a comprehensive digital communications and online marketing strategy in April 2010. As a result of this process, EIT identified the need for a completely new website that would create a greater sense of engagement with current and future students, their families, and academic staff.
The new site will include social media integration, RSS data feeds, and easy content management via the Wordpress blogging platform. The entire suite of features has been designed so that EIT staff can upload and manage content themselves, and interact easily with their visitors.
Until now, EIT’s website development has been handled by an Auckland firm, but EIT were seeking a closer relationship, preferably with a local provider. Brenda Chapman, Marketing Director at EIT says: “We could see the benefits of working with a local company and we were impressed with Mogul. Not only with their professionalism but also the way in which they listened and learnt as much as possible about our organization and the needs of our target markets.
Mogul’s technical knowledge, communication and project management skills have met our expectations. EIT is confident that Mogul is able to build a complex website that fulfills the necessary requirements and provide the ongoing support needed to ensure the site remains of the highest standard.”
Mogul has been investing considerable resources into bringing Hawke’s Bay businesses up to speed with the latest online marketing practices, and sees the opportunity to work with EIT as another step towards this goal. Matthew Miller, co-founder of Mogul says: “We firmly believe EIT has the potential to lead the education sector with its use of digital communications and online marketing, and we’re really excited at the opportunity to work with them on this project.”
