NorthTec’s Environmental Studies programme launches
‘green’ careers
Students graduating
from NorthTec’s Environmental Studies programme are
equipped to launch ‘green’ careers in a range of
environmentally-orientated occupations.
“We focus on Northland’s environment and introduce students to the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of applied conservation projects alongside industry and organisations that are working hard to preserve, conserve and restore out natural resources,” said NorthTec tutor Alison Fenwick. “Students study subjects such as ecology, biodiversity, conservation and environmental management and get a great introduction to careers in related fields.”
Environmental Studies students complete their first aid national units and get hands-on experience that could also provides a pathway to study on NorthTec’s Professional Hunting and Pest Control programme or its Diploma in Conservation and Environmental Management.
NorthTec’s Environmental Studies programme is delivered in Whangarei, Kerikeri and Moerewa.
