Fast and Furious Fashion Collection

1st touch of a sewing machine, to fashion collection in 2 months

It’s a fashion show with the normal boundary crossing concepts – leading Wellington designers, up and coming Porirua designers, students with spunk, all presenting collections in a museum of contemporary Maori art. And it is fundraising for The Child Cancer Foundation. Descriptive words trip of the tongue - brown, edgy, worthy.

Two months ago, the newest designers in this crew hadn’t touched a sewing machine. They get from street to dream in 8 weeks, and are now in a fashion show with Alexandra Owen, Starfish, Basquesse, Robyn Mathieson, Kiakaha.

Its a Gen Y fantasy, but this fashion show picks up new ideas from these fast and furious fashionistas, it offers collections to feed your addiction. New low tech collections, silk, fur and leather with found junk, ‘reconstituted’ t-shirts and nappies.

Date; 6.30pm 22 May, cocktails and 21 collections, Pataka Museum, Tickets $75 from The Cancer Foundation 04 389 2620. GET YOUR TICKETS THIS WEEK.
