Additional Flight Training Programmes

CTC Aviation Opens Additional Flight Training Programmes to New Zealanders

CTC Aviation Training announced today it is opening up its facility for the first time to allow more New Zealanders to gain flight training experience at its Crew Training Centre-Hamilton.

People who already have some flight training experience can now gain access to CTC’s proven world-class training to: complete their Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) theory training; obtain their instrument rating or instructor rating; or gain their Private Pilot License (PPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL).

CTC Aviation Training CEO, Ian Calvert, says this is a rare opportunity.

“At CTC, we have around 168 cadets each year coming from our Crew Training Centres in the UK for training here in New Zealand.

“We’ve recently changed the way we train these UK cadets and this change will see new trainees spending a few more months at the start of their training at our Crew Training Centres in the UK before they head down to New Zealand to complete their course.

“The first cadet class to start this new training regime is in November. What this means is there will be a lag of around five months when we’ll see the numbers in Hamilton diminish somewhat before the classes begin coming through to New Zealand again in April next year when we’ll be back up to near full capacity.

“So, to bridge this gap, we’ve decided to open up our training facility to people looking to gain a range of licenses and ratings,” explains Mr Calvert.

Mr Calvert said it was likely this would be a one-off opportunity that would only be on offer for around five months from November.
