NorthTec outstanding result in satisfaction survey
Media release: NorthTec achieves outstanding result in latest international student satisfaction survey
NorthTec’s results in the NZITP International Student Barometer for 2009 show that NorthTec’s international students are more satisfied than their counterparts in other institutions in 45 of the 56 aspects of international student life included in the survey.
The International Student Barometer is the largest study of international students in the world and has been adopted by more than 400 institutions in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Singapore, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Estonia, Italy, Belgium, Denmark and the USA.
The Barometer provides an objective, independent and confidential means for more than 500,000 students around the world to provide feedback about the institutions where they are studying.
NorthTec also participated in the International Student Barometer last year. The 2009 results show significant improvement when compared with the 2008 results in levels of student satisfaction across almost all areas of the student experience that were surveyed.
“Having received consistently positive results in 2008 and improved upon these results in most areas of international student satisfaction for 2009, NorthTec can be confident that the services it provides to its international students are world class,” said NorthTec’s Chief Executive Terry Barnett.
“Academics from the University of Agder in Norway who visited NorthTec recently reported that they had never seen students as satisfied with their overseas placement as those from their university that are studying at NorthTec this semester. As a result they have indicated that they will be sending an increased number of students to NorthTec next year.”
“We are delighted that international students are having such a fulfilling experience at NorthTec,” said NorthTec’s Director – International, Moira Hagenson. “Our aim is to maintain the high standards that we have achieved and to constantly find new ways to enhance the learning experience of our international student body.”
