New Zealander wins scholarship to prestigious UK business school

John Molloy of Auckland has been awarded a scholarship to study on the full-time MBA programme at Cranfield School of Management in the United Kingdom .

The scholarship covers half tuition fees, a contribution toward living expenses provided by Cranfield alumni in New Zealand , and a return airfare provided by the NZ-UK Link Foundation.  The total value of the scholarship is approximately $60,000.

John is currently a product manager for an Auckland technology company and was previously a New Zealand and North Harbour volleyball representative.

He will be spending a year in Cranfield, just north of London , with his young family and will join four other New Zealanders on this year’s Cranfield MBA course.  John says that: ‘The course will be academically challenging, but I’ll be mixing with young leaders from over 30 countries.  That will provide valuable networks for doing business when I return to New Zealand ’.

Mark Horton, Chair of the NZ-UK Link Foundation, says that: ‘The Link Foundation is delighted to partner with Cranfield in providing such a valuable scholarship opportunity for a promising young New Zealander’.

New Zealanders have been attending the Cranfield MBA course for the past 36 years.  There are now some 120 Cranfield alumni who are New Zealand citizens or residents.
