Plenty of Young Faces at 09 Orientation
A sea of predominantly young faces were welcomed to Whitireia at the beginning of orientation week this year.
As students swarmed the atrium, eager to join the welcoming Powhiri, staff couldn’t help but notice there were a lot more young faces than in previous years.
“We all noticed the crowd looked very young this year,” said School Liaison Administrator Carol Holcroft. “Normally it’s a real mixture. The turnout was great; even the trades students came down from Mohuia Campus which was nice to see!”
The Powhiri was the beginning of Orientation. The rest of the week includes library tours and performances from current music students.
