South Pacific Press an
international success story
Wellington education expert Neale Pitches will represent New Zealand at the world’s largest book fair on Saturday 18 October, showcasing his project, CSI – Comprehension Strategies Instruction.
Neale will tell an audience at the Frankfurt Book Fair what it takes to produce an international literacy project, showcasing CSI, a joint education venture that was developed across time-zones and is now being successfully used in classrooms in the USA and Australia.
CSI uses technology like interactive whiteboards and data projectors along with audio and books to develop literacy in students ages 9 – 13 across English, mathematics, social studies and science..
The product is already being used in USA and Australian classrooms and is currently being piloted at eight schools in New Zealand, with a nationwide release expected in 2009.
CSI was a joint venture between Neale’s company, South Pacific Press, and United States publisher Jim Connelly of Learning Works Inc, California. South Pacific Press provided the educational content and publishing expertise, and creative software developers Unlimited Realities, of Palmerston North, developed an interactive software interface for presenting CSI’s digital content...
Neale will be presenting CSI in the AEP Educational Publishing Pavilion. The Pavilion, a fair within a fair, is designed specifically to facilitate international relationships for developers of educational content.
