ITP New Zealand Appoints New Executive Director
The Institutes of Technology & Polytechnics of New Zealand (ITP New Zealand) has appointed Dave Guerin as its new Executive Director. He will take up the position on 6 August.
“I welcome Dave’s appointment and we are looking forward to him building on the excellent progress ITPNZ has made in the last year or so” said ITP New Zealand Chairperson, Mark Flowers.
“ITPNZ supports the government’s strategy for the tertiary education sector. It offers great opportunities and benefits for students, employers and tertiary education institutions. But there are also some important issues we need to resolve with the Tertiary Education Commission on behalf of our member organisations. Dave comes with the skills we need to resolve these in a positive way”.
Dave has worked in his own company, Education Directions, since he co-founded it in 1994. He has carried out a wide range of management consultancy, policy analysis and advocacy work over that time, working across all parts of the education sector. He has extensive networks in education and a deep understanding of the policy issues facing ITP New Zealand members.
“I look forward to the challenge of supporting the work of institutes of technology and polytechnics. They make an important contribution to New Zealand’s economy and community,” said Dave Guerin.
“ITP New Zealand has the opportunity to lead implementation of the tertiary education reforms in its sector, and it can build much stronger relationships with the public and key stakeholders. I plan to work closely with the members to achieve those ends,” said Dave Guerin.
