Annual Traffic Light Party
UniQ Victoria’s hottest dance party is back again!
UniQ Victoria, Victoria University’s representative group for queer* students and their friends, is proud to announce the return of its annual Traffic Light Party. This year’s party will be held at Our Bar, 201 Cuba Street, Wellington, on Saturday 5 May, with Wellington’s own the band called dave kicking things off at 9 pm. Tickets will be sold on the door at $5 for students, and $10 for non-students.
Not only will this year’s Traffic Light Party have Go-Go Dancers as in previous years, but also performances by Ellie Kat—one of Wellington’s most talented drag artists—and local MC Data Boy, as well as a DJ to keep party-goers grooving until the wee hours of the morning.
“The theme is simple”, says UniQ Victoria president Laressa Donaldson. “Party-goers wear green if they’re single/available, red if not, and orange if unsure or somewhere in between. Coloured ribbons will be provided on entry, for those unable to wear the colour of their choice, and to avoid any confusion due to colour ambiguity.”
The Traffic Light Party has proved to be a popular event in previous years among university students and the general queer public alike, and this year promises to be just as good!
