Going Back To School Can Be Stressful For Parents
Children Going Back To School Can Sometimes Be Stressful For Parents
Following on from the Christmas and school holiday period, some parents are struggling to meet children’s needs to adequately function at school.
Parents are just starting to pay off their credit cards from Christmas and the school holiday period, they are now having to look to pay for their children’s school fees, uniforms and stationary has helped to put a huge strain on many parents.
Tau Huirama, Jigsaw’s CEO Strategic Relationships emapthises with the financial pressures that parents face when their children start school for the year.
‘The Christmas and holiday period has just finished. This uses up a lot of parents financial resources and now they have to start looking to putting energy into meeting the needs of their children’s school fees and uniforms’
Mr Huirama acknowledges this difficulty but wants parents to know that their children do not need the most expensive brands of clothing and shoes. More important than that is having the support, the nurturing and involvement in their children’s education.
‘As a father who had 4 children I have experienced those stressful times that parents are now experiencing, and as a grand parent I look at our children who have been supported and see the joys and confidence that they exhibit.
Mr Huirama has a simple message for parents that are finding these stressful pressures too difficult.
‘I would like to encourage parents to keep the great work continuing and if you find that you are having difficulties and are frightened that you will abuse your child I encourage you to seek help and call our Jigsaw help line which is 0800 228 737
